University of Arkansas Phi Mu Sorority House
Alpha Beta Chapter
This 30,800 SF sorority house on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville is an ideal example of how CDI employs a truly collaborative approach in working with owners and architects. When the architect’s original design came in more than $2 million above the owner’s available funds, CDI spent nearly two years in preconstruction exploring creative ways to deliver an attractive building that would meet the owner’s program while remaining within budget. The house features dormitory-style rooms, chapter room, study rooms, formal dining room and full-service commercial kitchen, as well as a housemother apartment. The two-story entrance hall includes marble tile flooring and a Catalan vault ceiling, while the exterior features Palladian-style stairs.
